An ode to LV’s luxurious Design Ability to Blend Classic-looks with High-tech Modern-day Materials
Major fashion house Louis Vuitton has introduced a new watch trunk. This trunk is part of Louis Vuitton’s new Monogram Titanium collection, which consists of other accessories such as a champagne box, camera bag, suitcase and many more. In English LV’s newest watch truck is known as the Monogram Titanium watch trunk. In French, it is referred to as Coffret 8 Montres Titanium.
While many like to think of Louis Vuitton watch case collectors as vain with a flair for the flamboyant, appearances aside LV watch cases feature many industry standard manufacturing aspects that are both intriguing and minute.
One of these intriguing manufacturing aspects is the Monogram Titanium watch trunk’s capacity. As its French name ‘Coffret 8 Montres Titanium’ suggests, this watch trunk has the capacity to hold up to 8 watches. The trunk’s interior is lined with gray microfiber to protect your prized watches against scratches. Inside the trunk, there are also eight cushions for storing your watches. Underneath the watch storing compartment, there is an additional tray for small accessories, ideal for keeping your bracelets and straps.
Like all Louis Vuitton’s trunks, this trunk also has a wooden frame but has the unique feature of a mirror-polished titanium that is engraved with the LV signature motif. The corners of the trunk are covered in leather then secured with round-headed nails that have been hammered in place by hand. Its locks and borders are made out of ruthenium, thus they are of a different shade than the titanium panels and provide a visual contrast.
Even though many LV watch trunk connoisseurs believe that this is fundamentally a titanium version of Louis Vuitton’s standard watch trunk, even they admit that compared to other LV watch trunks the new Monogram Titanium watch trunk does indeed look gorgeous to the eye making its price tag of €20,000 well worth its while.
