Jaeger-Lecoultre Grande Reverso Ultra Thin 1931 Previewed Before SIHH 2014

Jaeger-LeCoultre has gone back in time to find its inspiration for the new Grand Reverso Ultra Thin 1931. In a way not gone that far. The new pink gold Grand Reverso Ultra Thin 1931 with the chocolate-toned dial is a color variation of Grande Reverso Rouge with a deep red dial (2011) and last year’s Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Duoface Blue. A perfect way to pay tribute to Grand Reverso Ultra-Thin that celebrates its 80th anniversary.

Housed in a 7.3mm ultra-thin 18 karat pink gold case, the dial features a numeral 12 o’clock, gold plated baton-shaped hour markers and sword-shaped gold plated hands. The rectangular small seconds dial is at 6 o’clock, with “REVERSO” engraved just above it to remind the owner of its ties to the original model.

The original Reverso from the 1930s with a chocolate-toned dial and REVERSO engraved just below 12 o’clock.

Powered by the hand-crafted manual-wound 2.95 mm thin Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 822/2 movement, the watch comes with 45 hrs of power reserve and a frequency of 21,600 vph.

For a watch whose mere existence is tied directly to Polo, it makes sense to have a leather strap made by a company that makes lots of Polo gear. Argentina-based Casa Fagliano supplies the beautiful hand-made brown cordovan leather strap for the Reverso fitted with an 18 karat pink gold pin buckle.
