No matter how many technically advanced or beautiful timepieces Bulgari brings to Baselworld, they always get pushed into background by the ever popular Serpenti collection.
ce, Saphir Ultranero is a fully skeletonized watch housed in a drum-shaped large titanium and sapphire crystal made case that measures 53mm. The case treated with a coat of jet-black DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) offer an eye-catching contrasting look because of the use of bright green Super-LumiNova filled microtubes.
Th Super-Luminova filled tubes acts as hour markers – something we are already familiar with because of HYT watches. The skeletonized hour and minute hands also comes coated with Super-Luminova. The titanium and sapphire on the case are held together by DLC-coated screws, while giving the watch a more unique look it also freed up inner space for the movement. It is powered by a GG 8000 mechanical hand-wound tourbillion movement that offer 70 hours of power reserve. Few of movement’s parts such as the barrel drum and the tourbillon carriage bridge are skeletonized.
A limited edition, only 30 pieces of the Bulgari Tourbillon Saphir Ultranero is available worldwide. Priced at CHF200,000 (about $213,000), this definitely do not come cheap.
