A tradition started in 2001 by Blancpain to create a women’s watch to celebrate Saint Valentine’s Day is continuing with the introduction of 2014 watch. The charming and exquisite watch is a beautiful interpretation of love and romance in a minimalist way.
The white mother-of-pearl dial features silhouettes of hearts – a red heart at 2 o’clock and two other engraved hearts. The hearts exudes a feeling of delicate bubbles floating in the air, an effect it gets from the embroidery-like borders. A heart is even carved on the back of the movement. The hour markers are set by seven chatons in addition to white gold roman numerals at 12, 6 and 9 o’clock. The date aperture is located at 3 o’clock. Its three hands are made in white gold with Blancpain “JB” logo featured on seconds hand. The bezel is embellished with a line of diamonds weighing around .94 karats in total making it a true jewelry watch.
Housed in the 33mm white gold case is Blancpain Calibre 1150 movement. The reliable movement with a silicon balance-spring is capable of providing 100 hours of power reserve and water resistant up to 30 meters. The movement made out of 210 parts and 28 rubies is visible through the open case back. The watch comes with a beautiful white leather strap. Limited to 99 pieces, pricing is not revealed by Blancpain at the time of unveiling.
