This is a big year for the forever young Hello Kitty, she turned 40. Hello Kitty is now a middle-aged kitty, that fact however is not stopping corporations from trying to cash in. As announced by Taiwan’s Eva Air, they have partnered with the Japanese owners of the Hello Kitty franchise and obtained a license to fly Hello Kitty flights. Since September of last year they have flown Hello Kitty flights between Taipei and Los Angeles three times per week. They decided to introduce the popular service to the busy Taipei-Paris route starting October 29.
Eva Air has five aircrafts re-decorated inside and outside with all things Hello Kitty. They even have a pre-boarding routine to show the exteriors of the aircraft that is painted with most of Sanrio characters. Interiors feature headrests and pillows decorated with famous kitty’s face. Even the flight attendants attire are not spared, they wear pink aprons printed with Hello Kitty’s face, Hello Kitty and Eva Air names. Hello Kitty themed meal trays are sure to be a big hit among young and old fliers alike. Flight also carry Hello Kitty branded amenities such as soaps and lotions, and if you wish you can take few of them home.
In addition to Los Angeles and Paris, Eva Air also offers Hello Kitty flights within Asia. Reservations for Paris flights are already open and prices start at €802.
