Google mogul Eric Schmidt has listed his guard-gated Beverly Park, Los Angeles compound for $45 million. Schmidt and his wife Wendy purchased the estate known as “the Knoll” in 2005 for $39 million. The opulent and gilded estate sits on a 5 plus acres of flat land with expansive gardens, rolling lawns and park-like grounds. The Schmidts had embarked on an extensive renovation project after buying the property as two separate parcels – one from ice hockey great Wayne Gretzky.

Described as a magnificent Italianate estate, 11,000 plus square feet mansion features 10 bedrooms and 17.5 bathrooms. Luxuriously finished master suite highlights include his and hers bathrooms, and closets. Exquisitely decorated through and through, the main house features a magnificent living room, formal dining room, a library, coiffure salon, plush grand theater, conference room, three offices, plenty of fireplaces and an observation deck. Must haves for a mansion such as this a wine cellar and a gym are also part of the main house.

Entrance to the mansion is via a tree-shaded short driveway with large wood doors that opens to a cobblestone motor court with a fountain. The entrance to the house is through a double height vestibule with a domed ceiling. The formal dining room also features domed ceiling in addition to a decorated marble table with gorgeous light pink upholstered chairs in brocade.

According to the listing details exteriors of the sprawling estate boasts two guests houses, swimming pool, pool house, tennis court, a small citrus grove and staff quarters. There is also parking for 30 plus cars on the property. This is in addition to the garage that can provide parking for at least nine vehicles.

It was only a couple of months ago Eric Schmidt ( a bit of a ladies’ man) bought a home next to the Playboy Mansion for $22 million.
