Now that marital and health issues are taken care of Hollywood A-listers Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas are looking for a new beginning. They are starting things off by selling one of their east coast properties for $8.1 million. The property that Zeta-Jones lived during her one-year old separation from Douglas is a spacious colonial in Bedford, NY. Zeta-Jones bought the property with 5-acres of gated grounds and that are surrounded on three sides by a horse farm in 2010. Prior to buying the property she and Douglas rented it for 6 months. The house also received a comprehensive remodel last year.
For the asking $8.1 million price tag, you get 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. The house also boasts a sauna, a fully-equipped gym and a gourmet kitchen. The renovated master closet suite comes with a room for shoes (when you a Hollywood A-lister you need that!) As part of the remodeling they’ve added a new guest house. Forbes also notes interiors are decorated in a “romantic and classic style reminiscent of the 1920s and 1930s” and a perfect place for both entertaining and family life.
Outdoors feature beautiful patio space and a long quiet driveway lined with hydrangeas. Other outdoor amenities of the well-appointed property includes manicured gardens, a greenhouse and a pool.
In 2010 Catherine Zeta-Jones paid $5.075 for the property and after new additions she is trying to sell it for a not-so-significant profit. Built in the 1930’s, the colonial-style house has 6,600 square feet of living space. Listing agent for the property is Craig Saino of Siano & Co.
