My favorite luxury bathroom set is made from Belgium chocolate and very edible, and nothing shiny about it. That is not everyone’s preference, some people like you want nothing but sheeny-shiny things – this Swarovski crystal-studded Villeroy & Boch Crystals Editions bathtub and washbasin are for you ladies and gents. The two-piece set from the German ceramic-brand includes the Octagon Pedestal Washbasin and Squaro Prestige bathtub.
Shan Shui is a traditional Chinese landscape painting method that highlights mountains and water. Most paintings using this method feature rivers, waterfalls and beautiful landscapes. The design inspiration behind the washbasin and bath is this same Shan Shui. Steve Leung, the Hong Kong-based designer of the two-piece collection has given the ancient art form a modern interpretation by using brilliant-cut Swarovski crystals. All or part of the exteriors of white Octagon Washbasin and the Squaro Prestige Bathtub comes wrapped in leather. The crystals in sizes 5 mm, 10 mm and 15 mm are then hand-applied by artisans to the leather to achieve its stunning look with contrasting colors and natural materials.
Thanks to Villeroy & Boch’s proprietary TitanCeram ceramic material it is made from, the Octagon Pedestal Washbasin has very thin walls and precise angles. Along with elegant Edelweiss Matt finish, the washbasin is luxed-up by 1,000 Swarovski Xirius Rose crystals.
The Free-standing Squaro Prestige Bathtub also made from TitanCeram, in additional to leather is offered in other finishes as well that includes real wood veneers made of Rouble Burl Wood, Satin Walnut, Yew, European Oak, and Smoked Oak. Each tub comes encrusted with 5,000 Swarovski Xirius Rose crystals.
