Tiffany & Co. just played the fairy godmother and transformed mundane daily objects into their glamorous line called “Everyday Objects” – excludes the famous pumpkin carriage. Tiffany & Co. launched this fancy range in October 2017 – a debut by their designer Reed Krakoff who truly gives these everyday items the most luxurious makeover possible. The glamourous line features everything from gold and silver straws to a handmade sterling silver bird’s nest.
The bird’s nest is the most expensive item of Tiffany & Co. Everyday Objects line. This collectible will cost you $10,000. The bird’s nest is completely handmade by highly skilled craftsmen who have woven it from delicate strands of silver. The silver nest houses three porcelain eggs in Tiffany’s trademark blue shade. This artisanal piece is a limited edition design, there are only five Tiffany & Co. handmade bird’s nests in the world. Reed Krakoff was inspired by a 1969 engagement ad from the Tiffany archives that led to creating this whimsical showpiece.
If you take a look at the rest of the collection, it is almost as if they said “Bippity boppity boop! Everything shiny with a hint of Tiffany blue!”. Of course, it is over-priced for everyday items but imagine living a life so fancy that you drink coffee out of a Tiffany blue paper cup that is made out of bone china or have your bagel on a sterling silver paper plate! The collection also includes leather tennis paddles, tin cans, and geometry tools. Let’s quote their ardent admirer Audrey Hepburn, “If I could find a real-life place that’d make me feel like Tiffany’s, then – then I’d buy some furniture and give the cat a name!”. Audrey would have absolutely followed up on that with Tiffany & Co. Everyday Objects Collection.
