Not any one of Silverstone, Imola, Monte Carlo or Suzuka tracks is offered. That is because this is not a Formula 1 track. I am a big F1 fan and to me, that is the real deal in auto racing. Having said that, as long as you are a race car enthusiasts with a love for any car and model race track, this Slot Mods Standard Scenic Raceway is for you. That is if you can cough up the eye-popping $50,000 price tag. For an additional cost you can get this customized to your heart’s content – perhaps there is hope for F1 fans.
This standard base model features a scenic wooden raceway with a wooden two-lane measuring 6’ x 12’. The track is modeled after classic hill climb from the 1960s and 1970s and they scaled it to 1/32 of the real thing. Almost all elements here is handcrafted and include period-correct structures, signage, bridges, and grandstands. They paid attention to every little detail including the landscaping, trees, grass, rocks, bushes and people. There is even an aluminium guardrail.
The raceway sits on a one piece table unit finished in white laminate with LED lighting underneath. It is portable and includes lockable wheels for easy movement. To play, the track comes with six slot cars, two controllers and a lab timing/race management system via a PC tablet.
Slot Mods designed this track model to give players the same heart-stopping hill climb racing experience from 4-5 decades ago. Back then daredevils with fast cars used to race-up twisting mountainsides to see who could make it to the top quickest. The Slot Mods Standard Scenic Raceway offer the same experience – in a smaller scale.
Because this is such a detail oriented project it takes them 3-4 months to build one. So make sure you place orders well in advance. The size allows this to be placed in places like a garage, basement, office or if you have a real special at home like a man cave. Visit Slot Mods to check other pricier models – there is one for $60,000 and another for $75,000 – both customizable for additional cost.
