Mercedes-Benz is trying its hand on a ride other than on a fast luxury cars. The beneficiary of this new Mercedes wave is Hawaii’s big wave surfer Garrett McNamara. Mercedes, who already sponsor and offer support for McNamara by providing rides on dry surface has gone few waves further to design a state-of-the-art watercraft. The design and engineering teams at Mercedes AMG created a Mercedes surfboard. The MB surfboard named “Silver Arrow of the Seas” was used for the first time recently to rides waves of Portugal’s Nazare North Canyon. The engineers at Mercedes-Benz AMG wing in Stuttgart also developed and fitted the surfboard with a telemetry system, which has a transmitter inside Garrett’s wetsuit to measure his surfing performance. You surfer dudes out there no need to hurry to the surf hut to buy a MB board yet, because they are special editions made only for McNamara to suit his trademark style of big wave riding.
