The Shinola Runwell Di2 Limited Edition bicycle is made in Detroit by US manufacturer Shinola. Production process though starts in Wisconsin’s Waterford Precision Cycles factory. At Waterford double-butted cromoly frames and forks are individually handcrafted.
Once the cromoly frame and fork arrives in Detroit factory they get hand-assembled by experienced bike specialists, while at the same time undergoing various tests for precision. Shinola ensures every bike that leaves their factory delivers a reliable ride along with high-performance and technology.
The bike is built using latest available technologies that include Shimano Di2 electronic shifting, 160mm hydraulic brakes and 11-speed internal hub from Alfine. It also comes with E2 Pro bright lights from German bike light specialist Supernova. For easy access LED control panel is handle-mounted.
Other Shinola made components used include aluminum front rack, black alloy fenders, and fender-mounted super bright PDW FenderBot tail light. The cables, wires, and Di2 battery are internally routed.
The leather handle grips and saddle are in-house made at Shinola’s leather goods workshop.
The classically-styled bike is available only in black and white color combination. Built to order Runwell Di2 Limited Edition is priced at $4,500. Deliveries are expected to start in March 2014.
