Morgan EV3 Junior Electric Car Is One Expensive Way For Kids To Have Fun

Morgan EV3 Junior

Don’t know about Junior, but I definitely want one of these babies! British car maker, Morgan, know a thing or two about making electric cars in retro style. Last year at Geneva Auto Show they unveiled the EV3 to great reviews. That one was for adults, who love to have some serious fun with a zero-emission electric vehicle that is capable of doing 100mph, 0-60 in 8 seconds and entirely coach-built. What about the little guy/gal at home, who also want to drive this fun three-wheeler? Just introduced Morgan EV3 Junior is for them.

The handmade EV3 Junior is a stylish three-wheeler with a carbon fiber body, wooden dashboard and hand stitched leather interior. As for the speeds – it boasts 10mph forward and reduced speed in reverse. The three-wheeler is offered in eye-catching colors Sport Red, Sport Green or Sport Ivory. However, you also have the option to pick a color from Morgan’s 40,000 paint library for an extra cost – the bright yellow is part of this. Upholstery leather is offered in standard black or tan. Customers can practically get the EV3 Junior custom built anyway they want – for a cost.

Kids sure going feel like driving dad’s car. It features among other things working lights, a real suspension and authentic enamel badge detailing. I am not sure if Junior is going to have enough patience for the charging process, as it takes 4 hours. Also worth noting, above-mentioned 10mph speed depends on daredevil’s driving style.

Size-wise, the fully CE-certified car is lightweight and smaller than most kid’s cars on the market. And Morgan recommends it only for kids over the age of 6, my guess is their weight going to help control the car better. If Junior is an avid reader, he can spend some time reading the accompanying handbook. The car comes with a 12-month warranty.

Pricing for the Morgan EV3 Junior starts at £6,662.50 + VAT (about $8,300). I know, this is pricey and you can buy maybe a KIA for that price. But look at the bright side, during Christmas in 2013, British department store Selfridges sold a gold-plated, Swarovski-studded Atom Car for $49,000. There was also the mini Aston Martin from Nicholas Mee & Co with a $27,000 price tag, this EV3 Junior is a bargain compared to those. You can order online, from Morgan factory shop in Malvern Link, UK or from a dealer.
