Lotus now have a motorcycle to go with their racing cars, sort of. Lotus get to create motorcycles with their name under license from Kodewa of Germany. Kodewa has done all the planning and development of the C-01. Bike is now road registered and ready to cruise. If interested you’ll need to hurry, this is a special limited edition bike, only 100 units will be made.
The Lotus C-01 comes with a 2-cylinder 4-stroke V-twin engine that is dry-sumped and water cooled. It has a 6 gear jaw-type shift transmission and a hydraulic anti-hopping clutch. It gets an upside down frame in light weight carbon fiber, titanium and high-strength steel. It also features twin breaks in the front and a single brake in the rear.
Daniel Simon, the lead designer for the Lotus C-01 said “The design process of the C-01 was a labor of love, there were many challenges, ensuring that the bike not only touches your visual senses with its timeless blend of classic appeal and modern execution, but that is safe and ergonomically sound was critical to me. We have worked hard to create a motorcycle with very distinctive features such as a clean main body, an extremely low side profile, a bold stance, a unique air intake, logical partline solutions and clean graphics.”
The Lotus C-01 is the results of collaboration between Kodewa, Holzer Group and Daniel Simon. All are veterans of motorsport industry. So they know what they are doing. You have nothing to fear.
Fully customizable C-01 will be available in a range of colors including Lotus’ famous racing colors. Lotus is yet to release pricing information, we can guesstimate to be in the way high range.
