Poor bastards at the Polizia di Stato are forced to drive around in a Lamborghini supercar, again, by the Italian automaker. Lamborghini CEO Stefan Winkelmann has handed over keys to a $250,000 Lamborghini Huracan this week at a ceremony held in Rome. This is the third exotic Lamborghini given to the Italian police by the carmaker. Police were given Gallardos in 2004 and 2008, however, one of them had a not so happy ending in 2009. Some would even say Lamborghini is trying too hard to be friends of the police and I agree.
The two-seat Lamborghini Huracan comes equipped to transport human organs. The 610 horsepower V10 engine delivers a top speed of 202 mph. Speed is a big advantage when cops have to chase Mafiosos and bad drivers that habitually ignore 80 mph speed limits along the Autostrade. There is no word if Italian cops are allowed to take this beast to mama’s home to run errands.
Car is scheduled to officially join traffic duty end of June and it will also be a feature at promotional events for The Polizia di Stato. The exteriors of the Huracan is painted in Polizia colors light blue and white. Cops may not let bad guys get away while patrolling in this car, rest assured this beast is not covert affairs ready.
