Gold covered, wrapped, plated – however you describe it, folks in the Middle East love to adorn their exotics rides with that shiny precious metal. First spotted on Facebook, and now everywhere else is a gold-plated Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4. None of the usual suspect tuners got to work on this car, no Kahn Design or Vilner touched it. This Qatar-based car got its makeover from Dubai-based Maatouk Design London. I agree it’s a name no one ever heard of because car tuning is not their (main) thing, they deal in antiques and make “shields for kings, prime ministers and VIPs.”
Qatari businessman Mr. Jaber Abdallah Al-Humaidi is the lucky owner(renter!) of this Aventador. Maatouk made changes according to his wishes that include real gold-plated accents, both inside and outside. Humaidi wanted his car ready for the Qatar National Day 2015 festivals, so he can show it off to family and friends. No work was done to its V12 engine or anything else on the mechanical side.
I won’t be surprised to hear about this car again in the summer. Just like other exotic birds from the Middle East, this might spend a few months in Europe when the weather is too hot to handle in the region. We might see this parked on the streets of London or Paris in August.
