Gold Bugatti Veyron Draws London Crowds

A Bugatti Veyron belongs to a Saudi millionaire sent London crowds into a frenzy this week. Gold and black Bugatti Veyron with Saudi registration seen outside the posh Dorchester Hotel after being flown over the week.

Only 150 of Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport ever built by the French automaker. Sports car come with a £1 million (approx. $1.62 million) price tag. Originally a white car, it was given the black and gold treatment by German customization specialist Foilacar in their Dubai workshop, making it one of the rarest cars in the world from every angle.

Saudi millionaire’s car appropriately carries the “1” vanity plate. It was parked next to a host of other luxury cars including foreign-registered Rolls-Royces outside the hotel.

In London, this is “The Season,” meaning super rich of the Saudi Kingdom trade their luxurious desert abodes for Britain’s pleasant climate.

Once the world’s fastest car, it has lost the crown to younger sibling Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse this year. The car is powered by an 8-litre engine with 1,000bhp, making the car go from 0 to 60mph in just 2.7 seconds. It can reach maximum speeds of 252mph.
