Rolls-Royce invites you to ride in old-world luxury and serenity on their latest edition of bespoke Phantom II Series. Unveiled couple of days ago at the Geneva Motor Show, the Rolls-Royce Serenity pays tribute to Emperors and Empresses of the Land of the Rising Sun from centuries ago. If you are heading to Geneva, make sure to stop by at the motor show, see it for yourself as it will be on display until 15th March. Rolls-Royce describes the Serenity as the “new standard in authentic, bespoke luxury motoring.”
The outside of the Serenity is painted in sparkling Mother of Pearl, the most expensive one-off paint ever developed by Rolls-Royce. They then painted it in three stages to achieve its unique color scheme with pearl effect and hand-polished it for 12 hours to deliver the shimmering presence. Exteriors also feature a three color blossom motif and a two color coachline hand applied with a squirrel-hair brush. The asymmetric nature of the coachline, according Rolls-Royce indicates the respective positions of owner and chauffeur.
The blossoms painted on the outside shows a glimpse of what to expect inside, and that’s a lot. The interiors lined in silk with cherry blossom prints is a creation of textile artists Chrica Haye and Michelle Lusby. Their inspiration came from the Oriental tradition where “Emperors would take to their private gardens to reflect in solitude under the blossom trees.” The silks are hand-dyed in a color called “Smoke Green” then hand-spun, hand-woven and finally hand-embroidered and painted with cherry blossoms. The entire process from dyeing to final stitches took 600 hours of work for each panel.
Other opulent features include white leather upholstered seats and cherrywood panels inlaid with mother-of-pearl blossoms and bamboo accents. The “Smoke Green” and Mother of Pearl themes continues in the driver’s compartment with them applied to the face of clock and the instrument dials. To match its white leather, the luggage compartment comes lined with Artic White carpet.
I am sure everyone is interested to know the lucky owner of this ultra-luxury wheels, the company however made a point not to release it or price of the Bespoke Rolls-Royce Serenity. As it stands now, the only way to get that information is by placing an order for your own bespoke Rolls.
