Bentley has finally decided to add more power and speed to their flagship model Mulsanne. With the new upgrades automaker now get to boast about the new 2015 Mulsanne Speed as the fastest ultra-luxury car in the world. Regular Mulsanne with 505 hp and 752 lbs-ft torque is not lacking power in any way, however automaker decided to up the power for the new version. A reengineered powertrain with their massive 6.75 liter twin-turbo V8 will power the Mulsanne Speed to go from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds and to a top speed of 190 mph. Power output has been increased up to 530 hp and 811 lbs-ft of torque that deliver 1,750 rpm. It is not just the improvements in performance, new engine also improved efficiency by 13%, based on CO2 emissions. Bentley calculates efficiency gains to be around 50 more miles from a single tank.
As we expect from Bentley, Mulsanne Speed boasts best of British luxury. Made from finest material using best technology available, the car is a perfect example of exquisite detail and craftsmanship. Its exteriors such as radiator grille, lower bumper grilles and wing vent feature a dark tint finish that is unique to automobile industry. The headlights and taillights with their “floating eclipse” design are finished with a striking dark tint. The 21” directional style wheels are individually machined from solid forged blanks and finished by hand. Bentley also introduced four new exterior colors for the Mulsannes – Spectre, Candy Red, Camel and Marlin.
Interiors of the Mulsanne Speed come with all the bells and whistles available. The familiar diamond quilted light-color hide is balanced with a darker color hide to give a two-tone feel. A new veneer option is available in handcrafted carbon fiber panels in Piano Black. Bentley emblem is embroidered to all seats and interior door handles feature a coined finish. Conveniences and luxuries include a 60 GB on-board hard drive that can store plenty of music and movies, electrically operated tables, connections for iPads and on-board Wi-Fi. There are plenty of optional features to increase the luxury of the ride, like installing premium audio systems and bespoke crystal champagne flutes.
The official unveiling of the Mulsanne Speed is scheduled for Thursday, October 2nd during the Paris Motor Show with customer delivery planned for early next year.
