Lenny Kravitz the photographer, apparently he is and he only works with Leica cameras. American rock star musician has teamed up with German camera manufacturer Leica (no surprise!) to create the special edition Lenny Kravitz x Leica M-P Type 240 camera kit. Leica is for working with well-known personalities from all industries, remember their special editions with Apple’s Jony Ive and Marc Newson (now works part-time at Apple.) So there is no surprise Leica collaborating with a rock star.
The Lenny Kravitz x Leica M-P Type 240 comes with two lenses – a 35 f/2 ASPH and a 50 f/1.4 ASPH. It also boasts a sapphire LCD cover, 24 megapixel full-frame sensor and 2 GB buffer memory. The redesigned camera is all black and comes with a stylish brief-case type carrying case, also in black. A noticeable feature is the vintage treatment given to the case along with brass hardware.
Limited to just 120 pieces, the Lenny Kravitz x Leica M-P Type 240 camera kit is scheduled to go on sale soon at leica-camera.com. As part of the release, Lenny Kravitz is scheduled to hold a special event in NYC in March, this will coincide with Kravitz’ exhibition of his work and his photography related book “Flash”.
