This year Hello Kitty and Playboy turned 40 and 60 respectively, two grand old dames still young at heart. Hello Kitty’s big celebrations included a grand jewelry collection by Mikimoto for Colette, while Playboy celebrated with supermodel Kate Moss. To take celebrations a little further both brands have got together with the camera maker Leica to create a special edition camera, limited to just 10 units.
The Leica C, a clone of Panasonic LF 1 – features Hello Kitty in Playboy bunny ears holding a camera. The camera come with a shutter speed of 250 to 1/4000 per second and a MOS primary color filter.
The unusual collaboration between sexy Playboy and kid friendly kawaii Hello Kitty seems a bit wrong from the outside, but French luxury concept retailer Colette thought otherwise. Colette founder Sarah Andelman said to Style.com “people thought I was crazy, but now everyone agrees they look amazing together.”
Other items in the collection include lighters, temporary tattoos and iPhone cases. Priced at €920 (approx. $1,265) the “sexy kawaii” is available for purchase at Colette, Paris.
