For the iPhone 6, its days as top dog of the Apple universe is coming to an end. The Apple Watch, with a pre-order date set at April 10, Silicon Valley giant’s most coveted product since the release of iPad is ready to take over the world. This time not just the tech industry, but the fashion and the $38 billion Swiss watch industries as well. Apple Watch arrives in three models with the gold plated Apple Watch Edition being the most expensive at $17,000. Even if Apple hasn’t offered a gold version, many companies ready offer a gold wrapped version. There is one from Brikk for $75k and Mervis Diamonds for $30k. Latest is the Goldgenie Apple Watch, part of a broader collection named “Spectrum”.
“The Apple Watch will surely change the face of time and how we handle it. We all have a choice in what we do with time and we want to help people really make it their own. Time is a gift and a luxury customized Apple Watch will be a great reminder of this,” said Goldgenie CEO, Laban Roomes about their Spectrum Collection.
Goldgenie Spectrum Collection will include both the stainless steel and the gold edition Apple Watches clad in their luxe finishes, precious stones and materials. A collection of multi-colored straps made from python, top-grain calf leather, natural python and crocodile skin are also available to accessorize watches. As for the pricing, a stainless steel gold plated Apple Watch will cost £2,000 (about $3,000) and the high end fully diamond studded solid 18 karat Gold Apple Watch Edition will command £110,000 (approx. $163,000). You can pre-order Goldgenie Apple Watch starting April 9th, that’s the day before Apple starts taking pre-orders.
