Just the thought of luxurious GODIVA chocolate and fancy Ritz-Carlton afternoon tea is enough to make us drool. The good news is both companies have worked together to offer a delightful experience for their faithful full of chocolates, sweets and savories. Starting from October 1 through the holidays and until January 1, 2016, the Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong will serve The Sablés Fine Butter Biscuits Afternoon Tea at Café 103. After Hong Kong, the luxury hotel chain plans to introduce the same to their other properties in Macau and China.
A match made in heaven, The Sablés Fine Butter Biscuits Afternoon Tea will consists of five specially designed biscuits. Created by GODIVA’s Chef Chocolatier, Jean Apostolou, they are inspired by his travels across five continents – Africa, Oceania, United States, Asia and Europe. His flavors invites you to visit Oceania with the Macadamia Ginger Sablé, Africa with the Ultimate Chocolate biscuit, the United States with the fabulous Pecan Chocolate Chip biscuit, Asia with the Matcha Tea and Europe with Almond Speculoos Sablé. The Sablés, meaning “sand” in French is a sandy textured European short bread cookie made with granulated sugar, flour and butter. Biscuits also has a noticeably crispy and crumbly texture. As expected they come covered in GODIVA chocolate and individually wrapped to keep them fresh.
Complementing the Sablés are creations from Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong’s Executive Chef Peter Find and Executive Pastry Chef Richard Long. Chef Find and his team has designed an enchanting list of items that include Mini Sandwiches with black sesame, foie gras and a hint of lemon curs for crisp acidity. Then there is the Capers Bread Cube filled with caviar, tangy capers cream cheese and home cured Scotland salmon. The other masterpiece from Chef Find is the freshly baked Waldkorn Bread with Sweetcorn and Chicken Salad. A glorious salad full of sunflower seeds and rocket herbs, perfect treat for health conscious foodies.
To honor GODIVA’s Belgian heritage a Three-colored chocolate verrine and Chocolate chip scones are presented as part of the Sablés Fine Butter Biscuits Afternoon Tea. In addition to wonderful sweets and savories, Ritz-Carlton as usual offers a collection of best teas from around the world. Champagne is optional. Pricing from October 1 through November 30 2015 is HK$388 ($50) per person, during the holidays from December 1 to January 1 2016 pricing is set at HK$458 ($60) per person.
