Those of you making way to Hong Kong this month have a great opportunity once again to enjoy Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong’s famous afternoon tea. Presented throughout July, the Strawberry Citrus Afternoon Tea is full of delicious desserts to please your sweet tooth. Café 103 will again be the place to head to for the summer refreshments created by Executive Pastry Chef Richard Long and his team. Sweet and sour menu consists of pastries, desserts, teas and champagne.
Chef Long described the menu as colorful and delicate. He also said “these enticing pastries do not only tempt the taste buds, but are also a feast for the eyes. The Strawberry Citrus Afternoon Tea is the perfect remedy for guests to get through the scorching summer”.
Items included Vanilla Strawberry Tart with smooth mascarpone vanilla cream and light strawberry white chocolate cream. Another is the Strawberry Basil Verrine – an almond sponge cake soaked in strawberry puree, strawberry basil cream and basil-infused strawberry puree.
There are two pieces Chef Long consider as personal favorites. One is Citrus Canelé – he has given the traditional Bordeaux pastry by dipping half it in orange zest-infused chocolate coating. The second is the Strawberry Sandwich consists of alternate layers of strawberry white chocolate cream and chocolate butter milk sponge cake. It was then decorated with strawberry compote dices and strawberry coulis.
To wash all these down you have a choice of teas, coffees and champagnes. Served daily between 3.30pm to 5.30pm pricing is set at HK$378 for one/HK$608 for two from Monday thru Friday.
