The second edition of The Savoy’s 125th Anniversary Single Malt Whisky is now up for grabs from the famed hotel. This year’s edition, a 48 year old Macallan arrives in an Art-Deco style decanter, and packaged in a handmade presentation box that includes a piece of wood from the original American bar. Limited to just three bottles, this year’s edition will cost a princely sum of £18,500 (around $28,000). These bottles too will be a part of the Savoy Collection, the exclusive limited edition bottle collection they launched last year.
Selling limited edition bottles to their loyal guests has been a tradition of the Savoy many years ago. To revive the tradition, last year they released a total of 121 bottles of a 21 year old Macallan. With the latest limited edition, the Savoy is trying to attract not just the fans of the hotel and Macallan but those who have an affection their American Bar as well.
