Next exclusive afternoon tea on line for this summer at Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong is another yummy, mouthwatering creation from Pierre Hermé Paris. The latest collaboration brings Satine Afternoon Tea, full of savory and sweet treats inspired by Pierre Hermé’s famed Fetish Satine pastry collection. Priced HK$388 (about $50) per person, the delicious fair is available from August 3 to 31 at Café 103. The Fetish Satine is all about summer and offer lovely treats in range of aromas and tastes that combines passion fruit, orange and cream cheese.
This incidentally is the first time Pierre Hermé offer six different desserts from the Satine collection in Hong Kong. The menu will include the Chou Satine – a passion fruit crumble with a crunchy shortbread pastry, filled with orange marmalade, passion fruit and cream cheese. The Emotion Satine is a passion fruit compote packed with seasoned orange pieces, cream cheese and shortbread pastry. Pierre Hermé also given the classic pound cake a new twist, named Cake Satine it comes with bits of orange zest and passion fruit in it.
Savory treats designed by hotel’s Executive Chef, Peter Find, include Dark Rye Bread Sandwich with lemon curd seasoned homemade Smoked Salmon. Another is the Carrot Bread Swiss Roll with Seafood Mousse and Crab Roe that offer contrasting textures. There is also a mouthwatering Orange Egg Salad Sandwich on Brown Bread where orange juice and orange zest is added to the egg salad to give it a bit more strong flavor.
Also on the menu are afternoon tea staples such as scones, macaroons – both passion fruit and orange flavored. Accompanying them are a choice of teas, coffee and the hotel’s signature chocolate. They also offer a special tea – Thé Satine Black tea flavored with passion fruit and orange essence. Prefer a glass of bubbly? That will be extra.
