Doughnuts or donuts – Krispy Kreme Japan is extremely good at making eye-catching and drool-worthy special editions for all seasons and occasions. This year’s Krispy Kreme Japan Easter Donut Collection features an adorable Easter Chick, an Easter Egg, and a Ladybug. The first two cute characters have been part of the collection since its introduction in 2014, while the ladybug is a new addition.
Caramel Crispy Easter
You can break down the makeup of returning favorite “Chick” into three parts. The first is its slightly bitter caramel cream filling. Then there is the bottom part of the donut – sprinkled generously with crunchy roasted flaked almonds. Finally, the yellow glaze on top is decorated with two bitter chocolate eyes, a tangy orange sauce beak, and a wavy white chocolate icing line.
Happy Chocolate Egg
Returning favorite, the Easter Egg donut has a new filling and decorative design this year. It is filled with everyone favorite chocolate pudding cream. Decorations on white chocolate glaze topping include strawberry chocolate and cheese chocolate icing and green sugar balls.
Lucky Strawberry Ladybird
Heart-shaped newest member of the Easter collection has an eye-catching strawberry-flavored bright red velvety glaze topping decorated with white and bitter chocolate. The Lady Bug has always been a favorite item on their menu, and with this addition, Krispy Kreme is adding more luck to this year’s “Good Luck! Easter” theme.
Priced ¥230 ($2.00) each, Krispy Kreme Japan Easter Donut Collection will be on sale until 25 April. Customers also have the opportunity to buy them as part of a dozen for ¥2,000 ($18) – you get two pieces each of special edition donuts plus six regular ones.
