Johnnie Walker Blue Label participated in Chinese New Year celebrations for a quite a while now. Years of experience in doing this means they know all the when tos and how tos of releasing the specials edition in time. As announced by them just a few days ago, the Johnnie Walker Blue Label ‘Year of the Rooster’ Limited Edition is now available in UK and Singapore for whiskey connoisseurs to purchase.
The bottle decorated with sophisticated Chinese calligraphy feature four facets of the Chinese Zodiac – the Herald, the Prospector, the Pioneer and the Adventurer. There are no Chinese New Year celebratory specials without gold trimmings on them. The iconic square blue bottle features the rooster in its all glory in gold trimmings. Rooster represents many things in Chinese culture including bringing good fortune, courage, and confidence.
“The Year of the Rooster signifies fresh starts and new beginnings as we move into a brand new year,” says Rajesh Joshi, Marketing Director, Moet Hennessy Diageo. “This forms the backbone and inspiration behind the elegantly designed limited collector’s edition bottle.”
Johnnie Walker Blue Label is the brand’s top-of-the-line Blended Scotch Whisky. It is so rare, only 1 out 10,000 casks find to be suitable enough with character to deliver its remarkably smooth signature taste of the flavored whiskey. Johnny Walker believes because whiskey doesn’t age alone or come from a single location, they can create blends that are big in flavor, richness, and smoke. This blend feature layers of honey and fruit and an incredibly smooth finish.
UK’s share of Johnnie Walker Blue Label ‘Year of the Rooster’ Limited Edition is 600 bottles, each priced at £175 ($215), while Singapore received 90 bottles priced at S$330 ($230).
