It is easy to collaborate when brands are owned by the same parent company. For the past three years, LVMH-owned labels Krug and Berluti worked together to design and create limited edition Champagne bags – inspired by shoe bags to carry Champagne around more easily. The highlights of this collaboration are Berluti-designed dark cherry patina leather and removable compartments. The latest release named, Berluti Krug Wild Journey Backpack comes made from Berluti’s signature Venezia leather. Just like the Short Journey and Long Journey bags of the collection, this backpack is designed by Berluti’s Creative Director, Haider Ackerman.
Olivier Krug, Director of the House of Krug said in a press release “When I think of who ‘Krug Lovers’ are, I see that they are independent people, with unique personalities and strong self-confidence. They are lovers of contrast and paradox, seeking enjoyment. They want an unforgettable experience, pleasure beyond perfection,” Olivier Krug, Director of the House of Krug.”
The travel-ready Berluti Krug Wild Journey Backpack comes with a bottle of Krug Rosé Champagne, a chrome wine stopper, and two handcrafted Riedel glasses, designed especially for rosé Champagne. Inside it is well insulated with thermal lining to keep a bottle of Krug Grande Cuvée or one of Krug Rosé chilled. Also inside are removable foam inserts to protect bottle and glasses from clinking and breaking.
In time for the holidays, the backpack will hit Berluti stores next month priced $6,500.
