Persol Typewriter Edition Takes You Back In Time With Typewriter-Inspired Eyewear

Persol Typewriter Edition

New eyewear collection from Italian brand Persol pays tribute to an important office equipment of a time gone by. The Persol Typewriter Edition takes us back to pre-word processor and touch screen keyboard era where we actually had to use typewriters, if handwritten documents are not an option. The new eyewear collection comprises of four styles – two in opticals and two in sunglasses. Main feature that ties it to typewriters belong to the bridge, where a metal rivet replicate the edging on traditional typing keys.

Inner sides of the stems feature personalized etching with the iconic American typewriter font. Another borrowed feature from typewriter is the metal typing bars, the fan-shaped engravings on the feet of the stems emulate them. To maximize comfort and temple flexibility, Persol used their patented nylon Mefleco cylinder system that was developed way back in 1930s.
