Before this, Louis Vuitton released a pair of sneakers last year that very much looked like knitted, apparently, they weren’t. The Louis Vuitton New Runner knitted sneaker they unveiled last week is officially the brand’s first all-knit version. This is a sneaker with a fully knitted upper and a bicolor sole with shading effect. There is a rubber triple V signature on the grooved tab and tonal heel tab. These Vs represents “Volez, Voguez, Voyagez” (“Sail, Fly, Travel).
From intricately woven upper to three stripes on the heel and hand-painted sole it takes LV crafts persons three hours to construct each pair. All in all a pair weighs just 60 grams. The Louis Vuitton New Runner aka VNR is offered in three colors olive green, black, and orange.
As always anything Louis Vuitton costs an arm and a leg. The Louis Vuitton New Runner comes with a $990 price tag and available at the online US store. No word on availability in their brick and mortar stores or online in other countries.
