Luxury brands got their Chinese New Year collections ready on time, and on a grand scale. To celebrate the Year of the Dog (puppy!) Gucci has released a playful capsule collection designed by Helen Downie of Unskilled Worker. As with previous collections, this too consists of pieces for men, women, and children. The backpacks, sneakers, polo shirts and denim jackets are all decorated with renditions of Gucci creative director Allesandro Michele’s two Boston Terriers – Orso and Bosco (and their friends!).
If you are a fan of bomber jackets there is a purple silk version for $3,900. Another item is the $760 short sleeved polo with an embroidered Orso patch. Other pieces include a long cardigan featuring both dogs on the front, Supreme Bosco backpack ($1,450), Supreme Bosco Tote ($1,350) and popular Ace sneakers with an embroidered puppy patch ($670).
The accessories range from baseball hats to wallets and jewelry that feature Gucci’s famous garden flowers, GG canvas and colors red and green. The Gucci Year of the Dog collection is now on offer online and boutiques worldwide.
