Gisele Bündchen Looking Fabulous On First Issue Of Porter Magazine

Gisele Bündchen - Porter Magazine 1

Net-A-Porter’s first print issue of the Porter Magazine is a smashing success even before it hits the newsstands on February 7th. Mrs. Tom Brady, Gisele Bündchen photographed by the Dutch duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, and beautified by Alex White graces the cover with little or no make-up, and a carefully arranged messy updo. The magazine gives due acknowledgment to Gisele’s status as the highest-paid and richest super model in the world with the line “300m[illion] woman” on the cover. All in all an excellent start to the model from Brazil for 2014.

Some of the other celebrities to appear on the first Porter issue with their stories include Cindy Crawford, Victoria Beckham, Julianne Moore, Miranda Kerr and Kate Bosworth. Even the editor of the rival Vogue magazine Anna Wintour makes couple of unofficial appearances we are told.

Porter editor Editor-in-chief Lucy Yeomans, formerly of Bazaar, says “In PORTER, not only will you find an authoritative global point of view and a bespoke curation of fashion, beauty, travel and culture in one luxurious glossy package, but also the quickest route to shopping that shoe, reading that novel, or booking that trip of your dreams – thanks to NET-A-PORTER’s easy-to-use app.”

The first issue come with 300 pages, 72 of them are for advertising with Chanel and Christian Dior sharing front and back covers respectively. Six-issue magazine has a subscription rate of $48 a year. Without subscription it is $9.99 per copy and that is almost twice as much as Vogue at $5.99.

At a time when other print publications ventures into the web world, Net-A-Porter decided do a reverse. WWD notes there may also be plans to launch a men’s print magazine for Mr. Porter. Let’s hope they succeed in reversing the print-to-digital trend.
