This certainly would confuse plain Jane Austen. She didn’t sign up to do anything with Gucci or any other luxury fashion house during the Big 4 fashion week. A small, pocket-sized book come with Gucci’s each new Frame Print Leather Top Bamboo Handle Bag. Named “Juvenilia”, the book is a collection of short stories written by damsel Austen through years 1787-1793, during her teenage years. A period she was free from censorship or social pressure, this is the complete opposite of what Gucci does – creative chaos.
There is plenty room in the bag to carry Juvenilia. Even back in the 1700s, when there was no Kindle readers and Gucci handbags, ladies managed to carry a book or two during long horse carriage and stage coach rides. Not just to pass time but also as a man repeller – to discourage unwanted suitors from trying to chat up.
Now to the Frame Print Leather Top Bamboo Handle Bag that is entirely made in Italy. The glossy leather bag feature a gold printed frame with an intricately braided pattern. The structured bamboo handle is contrasted by a roaring feline head painted with colored enamel, covered with sparkling crystals and eyes are formed by two stones. It also comes with a detachable chain strap to wear as a shoulder bag.
The bag is more suitable for evening and work and measures 12″W x 8″H x 4.5″D. Inside there is flower jacquard lining, a zipper pocket and two open compartments. The back of the scalloped flap is decorated with a heart shaped motif.
Delivered in special edition packaging with a garden motif from the Fall Winter 2017 runway show. The bag is offered in colors black, white and red. Available in select Gucci shops worldwide and online.
