The 12th edition of the Frimousses de Créateurs is back with a new collection of designer dolls from iconic designers and creative artists. UNICEF France organized designer doll auction this year follow an Opera theme. Contributions to the auction arrived from forty four design houses, which raise funds to provide vaccinations to children in Darfur. Last year’s designer doll auction raised over $230,000 for the foundation.
Some of the biggest names in the fashion world including Chanel, Gucci, Dior, Lanvin, Sonia Rykiel, Chantal Thomass, Maison Lejaby, Dolce & Gabbana, Gregos, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and Jean Paul Gaultier are part of the project. This year as was the case last year, unique dolls were exhibited prior to the auction at the Théâtre du Châtelet. The four day exhibition ended and the auction is scheduled for tomorrow (Nov 24) at the same venue.
In all 80 Opera-themed designer dolls are up for auction. Creative artists giving a helping hand to the cause include the ballet dancer Nicolas Le Riche, opera singer Natalie Dessay and singer-songwriter Lara Fabian.
