Not sure if this story belongs in which on of these categories – Food or Fashion. A jewelry collection from Cheetos is not something anyone expects when shopping for holiday gifts. We are not talking any trinkets but serious jewelry that sell for $20,000. For that money, you receive 18 karat gold earrings and a matching ring from Cheetos Chestora Collection – seriously!
The collection is a collaboration between Chester Cheetah and a really talented local designer from Dallas-Fort Worth area. Cheetos corporate office thought as talented as Chester is he might benefit working with someone who knows a thing or two about jewelry design.
Ryan Matiyow, Senior Director of Marketing at Cheetos thinks customers are tired of giving the same run of the mill gifts every year. So they decided to spice things up. “This year, we sought to change that by creating a collection of truly unique items that really deliver against the playful and fun personality of the Cheetos brand across a variety of categories, including jewelry.”
The only thing that even remotely resembles anything close to Cheetos in Chestora Collection is the bright orange color are sapphires of the same color. The design is top notch, if you didn’t know they are from Cheetos, you would think of them as jewelry from a high-end jewelry maker .
“The dazzling Eye of the Cheetah 18k yellow gold ring and earring set from the premier Chestora Collection features matching orange sapphires. The truly one-of-a-kind set is encrusted with over 190 black and white diamonds.”
The Chestora Collection is still up for grabs, if you want it better hurry up. “It’s really [marketed] towards the ultimate Cheetos fan who really wants to put on display the love that they have for the brand. That’s really who would be the hyper-target, I would say, for the jewelry set,” Matiyow said.
If the $20,000 price tag is too much for your bank account to handle, there are other gifts on the list. Would yo be interested in the cheesy scented Cheeteau Perfume? A couple of Cheesy Cufflinks perhaps, which happens to be head designer Chester Cheetah’s personal favorite. The cheesy/fashionable options include high top fuzzy slippers, dangerously silky scarf and really orange toilet paper.
