Converse has a long history of collaborating with other brands for special editions. For latest such venture they have teamed-up with Andy Warhol Foundation to design a soup-inspired collection. Launched at the beginning of the year, the capsule 2015 All Star Andy Warhol x Converse Collection feature a series of high-top and low-top sneakers from Chuck Taylor All Star brand. Even though Converse now offer sneakers in various prints, Warhol himself is the first person to use them as a canvas – he made his own custom printed Chuck Taylors.
Warhol’s iconic Campbell’s Soup Can series created in 1962 comprise of 32 paintings – one of each of the soups Campbell’s offered at the time. For the sneaker collection Converse has reproduced them in color and black & white versions. In addition to sneakers, the collection also include t-shirts.
The All Star Andy Warhol x Converse Collection is available priced between $35 and $90. A portion of proceeds from the capsule collection will go to The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
