To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Alexander McQueen’s skull scarf, his fashion house and artist Damien Hirst have worked together on a new scarf project. Damien Hirst, himself a skull devotee has lent artwork from his Entomology series featuring butterflies, lady bugs, beetles, other insects and even few mosquitos (if my eyes saw them right) for this exclusive project. In colorful geometric shapes insects are laid out to create McQueen’s skull motif.
Skull motif became part of Alexander McQueen’s scarf collections when he introduced them in Spring 2003 collection. The collection offers 30 unique designs, with each scarf in a limited edition print. Available exclusively at Alexander McQueen boutiques and online at alexandermcqueen.com. Prices range from $515 to $1,175.
