The Jordan Brand has a very sparkling kickstart to the new year – quite literally! The Nike owned brand has launched its first pair of shoes for 2018 – Air Jordan Dan Life Golds. The name is fitting for the kicks worth $6,500 embellished with over 15,000 crystals designed by Daniel Jacob.
Daniel Jacob is famed for covering anything and everything with crystals, and he used his Midas touch to create these limited edition Air Jordan “Golds”. Each crystal on the luxurious sneakers has been carefully set by hand and the glittering look is tied up with matching gold laces with a white sole for a striking contrast.
Usually, all of Daniel Jacob’s pieces are collectibles but the Air Jordan “Golds” are his first wearable creation. Daniel has used the premium Air Jordan 1 Pinnacle style as the base for his “Golds” design. The crystals are all Swarovski and the sneakers take about three weeks to be completed.
The celebrated designer, Daniel Jacob, enjoys merging the boundaries between art and fashion but opulence is constant. “My work for a long time was sculpture, and my large Air Jordan sculpture was mistaken by many as wearable, and I received hundreds of requests in the last year. So much demand,” Jacob told Footwear News. “But I finally decided to do a mini-launch in my favorite color of my favorite Jordans, the Pinnacle.”
The Air Jordan Dan Life Golds are truly beautiful, it is a piece of art you can keep gazing at (maybe with sunglasses) if you don’t have the heart to wear them. These limited edition Air Jordans are made-to-order only and can be purchased at www.thedanlife.com
