Russian oligarch and Chelsea Football Club owner Roman Abramovich has booked an entire hotel (111 suites) for half a million dollars in Israel for Passover. Abramovich’s plans at the luxury Beresheet Hotel in Mitzpe Ramon include treating his guests to a grand banquet under a specially erected tent in the desert to celebrate the first night of seder.
Abramovich’s reasoning for the trip is to spend time near the place where all the biblical action actually took place over three thousand years ago as recorded in the Book of Exodus. All 111 suites have separate entrances, so Abramovich doesn’t have to risk facing relatives or friends he don’t fancy meeting and greeting. Located on the bottom floor are 42 suites which has access to their own private swimming pool, while other 69 suites come with their own balconies that offer great views of the Negev desert.
Hotel amenities include a restaurant, lobby with fireplace, indoor heated pool, gym, sauna, spa, and a private movie theater. The Beresheet Hotel is located in historically important Spice Route that is 2,600 feet above sea level. The area has a year round cool climate and the hotel always advises its guests to bring warm clothes.
The cost of the tent is not part of the $500,000 Abramovich agreed to pay. He and his family is scheduled to arrive in Israel on Sunday by private jet and stay until Thursday.
